By way of its Private Equity Division, the majority of shares in Emergia Customer Care are held by Corporación Financiera Valora.
Corporacion Financiera Valora commenced its operations in 1998 with headquarters in Barcelona. Its current market capitalization is 140 million euros, distributed between its property, finance, private equity divisions, and the Fundación Corporación Valora.
The President of Valora, Mr Albert Ollé, besides holding positions of responsibility within the company, is a member of Barcelona's Chamber of Commerce and of the Board of Directors of the bank La Caixa.
Valora Private Equity Division: makes two types of investment:
- Financial investment: coinvesting with Mercapital and Vessey in funds of more than 600 million euros.
- Strategic investments: in companies where Valora is a majority shareholder in (as is the case of Emergia Customer Care) or with benchmark partners from the financial sector, such as La Caixa, in other companies.
Fundación Corporación Valora: The foundation contributes actively and financially to reducing poverty, hunger, marginalization, and social injustice in disadvantaged populations of the world. It does this in the form of cooperation agreements with different NGOs (Fundación Vicente Ferrer, Cáritas, Intermón Oxfam, Unicef, Médicos Sin Fronteras, and World Vision…), or with projects of its own to improve living conditions for certain groups in countries where Valora operates.
Real Estate Division: This division owns a total of 20 properties, which it rents to major business groups such as El Corte Inglés, Grupo Carrefour, and Caprabo; furthermore, the division is involved in significant property projects in Spain and abroad.
Valora Financial Division: The financial division of Valora works with the biggest names in Spanish finance (Grupo Santander, BBVA y La Caixa) and in foreign finance (Merril Lynch and Calyon), purchasing and selling stocks on the main international stock exchanges and buying structured products.
